Mount Scott is the highest point of Crater Lake National Park. It was named for Levi C. Scott, an Oregon Territory political figure in the 1840’s-1850’s. Although strenuous, a hike to the top is accessible to many, including families. From the summit, one can capture the whole of the 6 mile diameter Crater Lake in the view finder of an ordinary camera. In addition to the spectacular and awe-inspiring view of the lake, one can see as far south as Mount Shasta, California and north to Three Sisters.
