Dale Hollow Lake Fishing Map
Dale Hollow Lake was created in 1943 with the completion of Dale Hollow Dam, which impounded the Obey River. Three power generators create hydroelectric power for the region, and the dam provides valuable flood control. Besides its economic importance, Dale Hollow Lake has also developed into a destination fishing lake. The lake is widely considered one of the finest trophy smallmouth fisheries in the world. This reputation is well earned: Dale Hollow has produced the three largest smallmouth bass on record. Though smallies are king on Dale Hollow, largemouth bass are just as prevalent and face less angling pressure. But black bass aren’t the only draw; crappie, walleye and many other species also have well-established fisheries.
