Cherokee Lake (Tennessee) Fish Map
Cherokee Lake was created just prior to World War II, when the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) dammed the Holston River in order to generate hydroelectric power and prevent flood damage. Since then, the lake has also become a popular recreation destination. A high overall fertility level and an excellent base of forage fish have led to higher fish densities than in most other Tennessee reservoirs. This has, in turn, resulted in fishing being one of the favorite recreational pastimes on the lake.
