The Romea Strata Walking Map #2
The Romea Strata was an important route, traveled by pilgrims who departed from central-eastern Europe and, crossing the Apennines, reached the Francigena. From here, turning south, they arrived in Rome and then departed from the southern ports for Jerusalem or Santiago de Compostela.
This second volume dedicated to the Via Romea Strata focuses on three specific geographical areas: East Tyrol (Austria), Friuli Venezia Giulia and the province of Vicenza. As many as four routes are described – Romea Allemagna, Iulia Augusta, Aquileiense and Romea Vicetia – presented in the introductory section through a very useful overview. Within each route, for each stage there is an altimetric profile and a description with all the necessary indications and suggestions. Each territory is also told through a series of insights of a historical, cultural, religious, naturalistic and even food and wine nature.
